A parent who walks this road herself

Over the past decade, Beth has personally navigated the full spectrum of New York City’s educational landscape for a child with special needs. Beth has made mistakes, found resources, asked the hard questions, and come out the other side with real, hard-won knowledge. She is not an attorney, a therapist, or a teacher. She is a parent who has experienced this journey myself and has received certification from the NYC DOE as a parent member and a parent advocate member of COPAA.

That experience is exactly what I bring to every family I work with. I’m not a consultant who studied the system from the outside. I lived it then and live it now. My goal is to save you the time I wasted learning this process.

WHY FAMILIES TRUST BETH

Guidance rooted in lived experience, clarity, and connection

Real conversations. Real insight. Real support for NYC families navigating special education.

A parent perspective from every angle

Everything Beth shares reflects lived experience and honest personal opinion — not clinical or legal advice. That’s a feature, not a limitation.

Deep knowledge of all NYC school types

Public, private, independent, and non-public special education schools. District 75, IEPs, CSE meetings, and placement processes.

A trusted confidant, not a report generator

What Beth offers lives in our conversation, in the clarity that comes from being heard and guided by someone who truly gets it.

Vetted referrals and resources

Two decades of relationships in NYC’s special education community mean Beth knows who can help and how to get there.

Wherever you are, that’s where we start

When your child is struggling, it can feel like every decision carries enormous weight. What do all these acronyms mean? Will I lose my job? Am I asking the right questions?

As the parent of two neurodivergent children, Beth has spent years navigating evaluations, IEP meetings, school placements, therapies, transition planning, and disability services. Along the way, she has learned something important: parents don’t just need information. They need someone who understands the journey and can help them make sense of it.

Let’s be clear, Beth does not replace attorneys, psychologists, or therapists. Instead, she helps parents understand their options, ask better questions, and connect with the right resources so they can move forward with confidence.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or don’t know where to begin, Beth will help you identify your biggest concerns and create a clear path forward.

Beth is not here to give you a binder of resources.
She is here to think through this with you, honestly, as someone who has been exactly where you are. No judgments, just a plan of action so you see movement.

Real questions. Real worries. Real next steps.

Questions Beth Hear from Parents Every Day

Questions that often start our conversation.

“My son was just diagnosed and I am scared and behind the 8 ball. Where do I start?”

“I’m the parent who asked about DBT. I know you’re very active in the special kids groups and I’ve seen your posts. I would love to hear about how you selected a program for your kid.”

“We were told this non-public school is the only option for our daughter. Is that really true?”

“The DOE wants my child to go to an ICT 3K or service-based agency? What would you do”

“They want to counsel my son out? Where do I go and who do I call?”

“Do behaviors really get better? Who do you know who has helped?”
